The World Championship of Public Speaking 2019

When Toastmasters from different clubs get together, vibrant energy fills the room. This is exactly what happened when members of District 86 - Division B got together for a live stream of The World Championship of Public Speaking. Six phenomenal and inspiring speeches were broadcast from Denver Colorado by Toastmasters from around the world. The takeaway from those speeches - in times of division, it is more important than ever to come together as people.

Division B Director, Roger Caesar, emceed the event with his contagious enthusiasm. Dignitaries from District 86 included Samaa El Sayed, Larry Shaw and Matthew Ogbulafor. They were joined by Area 35 Director Firdaus Walele.

This event was made possible by the hard work of Madhukar Shahi and Dennis Bartel. The idea was conceptualized in May between the pair and since then they were meeting every Saturday to make it a success.

Dennis Bartel was the organizing pillar of the event along with sponsor Madhukar Shahi who happens to be President of the Brampton Talks Toastmasters Club.

The object was to make the word "Toastmasters" a household name. They reached out to thousands through social media (Facebook, Web, Instagram, Eventbrite)
